Wasserwacht Halle (Saale)

Welcome

Lifeguard Service Halle (Saale) - Germany

The Lifeguard Service Halle (Saale) is a registered association, focusing on swimming, lifesaving, diving and first aid (in UK y ou would probably call it a water rescue service).

We are the biggest lifeguard service organisation of the German Red Cross (DRK) in Saxony-Anhalt (a land in Germany), with 369 members (2016). Two-thirds of our members are children and teenagers.

Best you can imagine us as a mixture of a lifesavin g organisation - trained for and involved in real emergencies - and as a sports club .

Lifesaving is a team competition in Germany and our teams are successful in contests on country and national levels.

Non-recurring in Germany is our education and train ing for “Young Rescue Divers”. Children from the age of ten years can learn diving and receive internationally accepted certificates by dive instructors. Therefo re, the club was honoured in 2012, by the German Olympic Sports Confederation, for its great work with the young professionals.

As a lifesaving organisation we have a flying squat of rescue divers and we are part of the emergency management in Halle (Saale). Furth ermore, the lifeguards of our club guard four of the indoor and outdoor swimming pools in our city.

Our association is willing to get involved internat ionally. If you represent a lifeguard or a water rescue organisation searching for a partner in Germany, you can write in English or French on vorstand@wasserwacht-halle.de .
